Furniture Re-Arranging, or should I leave it as is?

Hello! I have an apartment that is about 985 square footage… my dining room and living room are connected into one big rectangular space of about 12×21….. at the far end of the rectangular space is the sliding door to the patio, therefore I have two parallel walls to work with when it comes to my living room. My current arrangement is the large sofa on one wall, on the wall across is the mounted flat screen tv and separating the "dining area" from the living room is a love seat. Coffee table in the middle. Here goes my thoughts, I would like a modern vintage twist. My accent wall (where the large sofa is against) is a turquoise color. My couches are black microfiber and the armrests are leather. They are pretty chunky, the arm rests have a slight round curve giving it a "formal" flair but none the less they are contemporary. I’m wondering if the love seat should be removed and replaced with two arm chairs in order to give the room more space. I wanted to remove the coffee table. I don’t know what to place on the wall with the flat screen tv… all we have is a tv mounted on there. Over the big couch on the turquoise wall I want a vintage black mirror. I’m making zebra print pillows for the couch. Will removing the coffee table make it look too empty? Should I place a rug instead? If so what kind of rug? what patterns would look good with the zebra…? I have a two year old trouble maker and i’m about to have another baby which is why i’m considering getting rid of the coffee table since its more like a play table now. What do you all think? How can I achieve a modern vintage look… using turqoise black and a hint of red…. but also have a spacious area?? I’M STUDYING INTERIOR DECORATING in the midst of doing this to my home and it seems to just confuse me more… money IS AN ISSUE!
